Our Programs
Through our family programs, residential recovery services, and partnerships with local detention centers, we emphasize teaching vital life skills through individual and group intervention, and evidence-based curriculum promoting healing and restoration. Families Free connects families to community resources for their basic, mental, social, and physical needs. We offer holistic treatment for justice-involved individuals, including outpatient services, trauma groups, yoga, parenting education, family therapy, and psychiatric evaluations.
Parent and Child Together (PACT) serves women with drug-exposed infants through outpatient and community-based programs.
Northeast Tennessee Residential Recovery Court provides holistic treatment for individuals involved with the criminal justice system rooted in substance use.
The Northeast Tennessee Residential Center is a place where hope meets healing in the heart of our community. Operated by Families Free, the centers offer a transformative one-year program for men & women committed to overcoming addiction and reclaiming their lives. Our comprehensive program encompasses evidence-based treatment for substance abuse.

Families Free is a local non-profit organization celebrating its 15th year serving the community. We are a licensed mental health and outpatient treatment program with a heart for helping vulnerable families affected by incarceration and substance abuse, using evidence-based services rooted in compassion and restoration.
Our programs are partially funded by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
Families Free is deeply committed to addressing the needs of vulnerable families within our community. To ensure accessibility and reach, we have established offices in key locations across Northeast Tennessee. Our headquarters is situated in Johnson City, serving as the central hub for our operations. Additionally, we have offices in Elizabethton, Kingsport, and Mountain City. This network of locations enables us to effectively reach and serve families throughout the region.
