Gender-Specific Offender Rehabilitation for Women
Families Free works with cohorts of 10-15 women housed at the Johnson City Jail through a 16-week program to provide gender-specific, evidence-based recovery support services deisnged to prepare incarcerated women for sucessful community reintegration and family reunification!
Topics are addressed to help our participants in reframing their priorities and perspectives on life, to address co-occurring disorders, parenting skills, personal finances, and job readiness. For one year following release, Families will work through a personalized service plan, as well as, provide resource linkage and problem solving skill development services to assist these ladies in a stable, successful transition back into their communities and families.

Positive Outcomes
Families Free's participants have consistently shown lower scores on the Texas Christian University's Criminal Thinking Scales when comparing pre-tests to post-tests. This test assesses the following areas: Entitlement, Justification, Personal Irresponsibility, Power Orientation, Cold Heartedness, and Criminal Rationalization.
